Catch up

Sorry I haven't been here lately, this past week has been insanely busy! But things are back to normal now. Well, as normal as things can get with me around.

 Saph, that's a really good idea with the extra OC's, we do kind of need them, especially since Alex left (Alex, I didn't really get to say goodbye properly, and despite the fact that you'll never get to read this, we'll all miss you. Im not great with goodbye-y speeches, so I hope that you're okay with its-the-thought-that-counts thing)

 On a more casual note, I hope everybody had an awesome/spooky Halloween last week! I'd love to hear what everyone's costumes :)

Also, today's my birthday (13), so I'm legally allowed to do and watch heaps of stuff that I already do anyway! Yay!

Ooh, 100 comments and a view counter.

I just noticed that we have exactly 100 comments :) And I've put a view counter up the top. We had somewhere around 400 views when I last checked. Woo for us!
None of you have mentioned whether you want to create an extra OC or not. Is anyone even still reading?
I came up with one anyway, and I'm going to subtly introduce him in the roleplay soon.

Well.
Alex and I were up all night role-playing and talking, and he has literally just left.
So that leaves us even more short-staffed, which makes me return to my idea about everyone having an OC. What do you think?

Well, I guess it's time for me to say goodbye.

I hate this. I've always hated goodbyes. And I'll come back and stuff... just not for long. And not for a very long time.
I leave on Monday, but today is my last day with a computer. So I just wanted to say some things to each of you.

Scarlet; I haven't really talked to you much, but you seem like a friendly and intelligent person. It was nice to meet you.

Selena; You're bubbly and optimistic and kind. The internet could do with more people like you. I haven't seen you in a while, but I hope you're okay, because you were friendly and I liked you.

Cali; You are a great Grand Mage. You may be the youngest on here, but you're more mature than any of us and always have a kind word to say. Out of all the people on here except Saph, you're probably the one I know and respect the most. You're a natural leader and a genuinely good person. (Translation; you're awesome.)

Saph; Oh, crap. I don't want to say goodbye to you. I know it's not forever, but it's hard to keep a best friend when you can only talk once every few months. I'm gonna miss you like hell.
I love you like a little sister. I don't know how the hell we ended up friends, but I'm glad we did. You're the best person I've ever met; kind and smart and funny and stubborn and I really don't want to say goodbye. But if I don't do it now, I don't think I'll be able to.
Love you, Sapphy. Good luck with whatever happens to you. And publish your songs, for God's sake. They're amazing.

Halloween, War, and Alex.

Happy Halloween! Everyone still alive? Yes? It was a close call for me. But I survived the vicious pillow fights and horror movies!
However, I'm still cowering in shame. Cali's class beat mine in PE today.
This means war >:D

Oh yeah, I had an idea. Seeing as we need more people to be detectives and things, why don't we all create an OC?

Finally, something a bit sadder. Tomorrow is Alex's last day on the blog. He's already told me he doesn't want long messages, but I just have to say this; We'll miss you so, so much. I'm glad I met you, and good luck with wherever you go. You'll always be welcome back here.
Maybe your family can suck sometimes, but friends are your chosen family. No matter what happens, you've got us.

Screw Homework, I'm gonna do a character profile

So yeah, I'll be in trouble later and regretting it then but oh well, live in the moment.

Name: Scarlet Eventide
Magic: Teleporter
Occupation: Elder
Appearance: Not very tall with shoulder length, thick, blond hair that never sits flat. Greyish eyes .
Weapon: I've got a huge stash in the vault I'm renting. Mostly odd sticks and things that I pick up in random places including a large pair of knitting needles and some very sharp sewing scissors (but I usually only use those to threaten people)
Personality: I'm pretty quiet with people I don't know as well.

Let's have a party!

I was looking for something to post and I suddenly had a great idea.
I just looked at the date this blog was started, and it will be it's one month anniversary on Thursday.
We could celebrate! Just start a comment thread on this blog and  have an online party :3 And we could wear the dresses (and suit, in Alex's case) we wore to the Requiem. That would be so much fun :D Comment if you want to do it.

I guess there's something I should tell you. By the beginning of November, you'll need a new Administrator. I'm moving back to England.
See, my parents are complete crap. They sent me off here in hopes of a 'better education' because I'm not as smart as my many brothers, who they're always praising when they do well and yelling at when they don't. I think they just wanted to get me out of the way, and New Zealand was handy.
I haven't seen my dad's face in three years. I don't remember what he looks like. My mother Skypes every few months and came over two years ago, but that's about it. One time, she phoned me and called me my brother's name. Oh, cheers, mother. For  my birthday this year, they bought me a bouncy ball. (I'm 15). Seriously, they have no clue who I am.
Anyway, they're rubbish parents who don't give a **** about me. Lately I've been trying to convince them that I should stay here in Napier to finish college and do all my exams, and moving me who suck for my education. I think I got them nearly convinced.
But when the shakes hit Wellington, they suddenly freaked out and decided that New Zealand is a horrible, unsafe place and at any moment I could be killed by an earthquake or drowned by a storm or, I don't even know, eaten alive by tuataras. I tried explaining what it's really like, but they also decided they want me to take British exams and get British grades. But worse, they say I've 'fallen behind' and I need a special school. And, great, that boarding school (I've never been to a school and not boarded) has classes Mon-Sat, no laptops, Sunday sport compulsory, one hour on a computer per week, that kind of stupid stuff that means I'll have to leave the blog and lose touch with pretty much everyone. I doubt I'll be able to even email Saph more than once every few months.

Sorry. Got side-tracked on a rant. The big thing is, someone needs to be an Administrator when I go. Selena, do you want to?

Looking to the Americans....

Okay, so today, I decided I'd check out how the American Sanctuary was doing, and what they did in their first steps.

Turns out, no offense to ANY Ameriminions, but to be honest it didnt go spectacularly. I read through every post (yes, all 59 of them) and not much happened, apart from

      - A Serial Killer case that was never solved
      - They managed to banish an Elder from their blog. Who then decided to resign first or something. Who was then welcomed back in a while later (it was all rather messy).

Basically, after that, the blog slowly fizzled up and died.

SO its up to us to get this sanctuary up and running.
I think we need a detective or something of the sort. Someone who can inform us of any upsets in the magical community. Also, possibly, an... uh, suggestion box? Basically anything that anyone thinks isnt up to scratch.

So, thoughts everyone?

Australia

Just thought I should inform everyone that I'm away visiting the Australian Sanctuary. Strictly business only. No beaches, no sightseeing, nothing. In the meantime, Scarlet and Saph can argue over who's in charge.

Welcome to the sanctuary Selena, our main rule is no bombing anything. That's about it actually.
We should probably make more laws.

Anyway, as always, we're still recruiting Kiwinions. Also, anyone have any ideas for our sanctuary's next steps? All ideas are welcome as long as they don't include too many meetings.

Calidae Dark smiled as she lay under the shade of a palm tree, finally free of those awful robes. Yep, definitely no beaches she thought to herself, wriggling her toes in the sand. The surf hit the beach rhythmically, and the sound of children's delighted squeals filled the air. There was a slight, hot breeze, unlike the normal gales in Wellington.

"Are you quite finished, Grand Mage Dark?" said a man standing behind her, wearing a suit and looking uncomfortable. Pilius Smooth had been assigned the task of basically becoming Calidae's chauffeur for the duration of her stay. He was rather bad at hiding his distaste for the job.

"Lighten up, Pil," she looked up at him. "We've only been here 15 minutes."

"I hate you remind you, but you have duties: an appointment with the counsel in half an hour. Do you really want to turn up in your togs?"

She hated to admit it, but he was right. After some consideration, she stood up, shaking sand off her towel. "Fine. Lets go."

Pilius nodded, and she was fairly sure she saw a smug smile make its way onto his lips as he turned around.

So much for the holiday she'd been expecting. 

Any other ideas?

Well, I loved the idea of this blog, but not much is really going on. So, as Administrator, I've thought of a few things we can/might want to do.
1) Come up with a new background for the blog
2) Like Saph suggested, invite other mages over so we can argue/fight/whatever
3) I'd like to use Google Sketchup to make up a model of our Sanctuary. Just because it would be awesome :3

Personality: Trustworthy, I guess, but a joker. I'm social, warm, friendly and forgiving, but I'm not very smart. Brave, I suppose. I'm stubborn when it comes to things I care about and loyal. I also don't give a damn what people think of me.

Magic: Elemental/ Sensitive
Occupation: Elder
Appearance:Long, curly chocolate hair that she usually wears down or twists into a loose plait. Pale skinned with unusually bright blue eyes that creep people out if she stares at them too long. Saph usually has a small smile on her face and loves wearing black/ jeans.  Looks around fourteen and is medium height.
Weapon: Two daggers (she's tried to name them countless times, but nothing's stuck). She prefers to fight with something in both hands but is reasonably good at hand-to-hand combat. Generally, she prefers to outwit her opposition than use brute force. She will also attack with her mind >:D
My Personality: Saph survives because she gets mad ideas and thinks her way out of tricky situations. Despite her talkative and friendly demeanour, she’s not the most open and social person in the world- in fact, she’s quite guarded. But she’s trustworthy and incredibly loyal. Saph loves sharing knowledge and teaching people things. She doesn’t generally care what people think of her and prefers running over fighting, but in the end she will always do what she thinks is right. On the down side, she can be a total grump sometimes and can stress out easily :P

Another day of the entire Sanctuary doing nothing but watch our boat. And replays. And analysis. And the weather forecast in San Fran tomorrow. (Let's just say that if it was in Wellington, we'd never stay below the wind limit long enough to race XD ) 
All of our Sensitives (including me) have been frantically trying to forsee the result, but it's murky...  :( The prediction at the moment is;
 
Oracle wins the next race.
New Zealand win the race after that, and therefore the cup!
 
And so we wait and wait and bite our nails and really hope it concludes soon, because wearing the same red socks for two weeks gets a bit smelly after a while :(

I agree, the sailing is brilliant. I would love to be in San Francisco, but unfortunately the local mages have banned me. Apparently they don't trust me not to tip their boat over... As if

Sapphire pushed her brown curls to one side and rubbed her neck. These robes were so itchy, even if she did like the dark blue colour. She shuffled uncomfortably as she strode down the corridor.
At least they didn't get too hot in the summer, but-

A blur of robes, blond hair and paper appeared in front of her nose. Saph was too slow to move as she crashed into her fellow Elder with a yell and a curse. She stumbled backwards and the book fell to the floor, thudding down onto her toes. She cried out and lost her balance, her head colliding with the wall.
Hands appeared out of nowhere to catch her, steadying Saph until there were no longer stars in front of her eyes. Her vision cleared and she could see a familiar, concerned blue gaze from a girl in robes just like her own.
"Sorry!" Scarlet Eventide apologised. "Are you okay?"
Saph rubbed her head, wincing. "Eh, I will be in a minute." She took a deep breath and straightened up to hug her sister. "What were you doing?"
There was a brief, dizzying moment where Scarlet teleported over to her book and popped back, stroking the cover. Sapphire blinked.
"Just coming in to the Sanctuary," Scarlet replied. "I didn't think anyone would be here." She glanced up again. "You sure you're okay?"
A little smile touched the corners of Saph's mouth as they began to walk down the corridor. "I'm fine, Scarl. I'm not even due in for a few hours, but I can watch the America's Cup better here than from home." She sighed. "I wish I could go there."

Her sister stared at her in surprise. "You should've just said! I can take you there right now!" The arm without the book reached out for Sapphire. A little spark of hope flared in her chest, but she crushed it.
"I'm banned, remember?" she pointed out.
Scarl grinned. "They'll never notice. Come on!"
Temptation battled with reason, and Sapphire hesitated before taking Scarlet's hand.

A/N And I shall write a part two, where Saph and Scarl attempt to capsize Oracle :D Or someone else can if they want.
And I WILL do the character thing. I'm just tired right now :(

Busy day at the office

Busy day at the office today.
Watching the sailing is tiring.

I've been assured that the elemental on the NZ team has nothing to do with our winning streak, but we're still keeping tabs...

In the meantime though, why don't we all get to know each other better: How about submitting your OC?

My Personality: Is changeable. Some days i'm rational and logical. And some days it's like i've eaten a bag of sugar all at once. I'm stubborn, very determined, and loyal.

Okay, admittedly that was a really bad OC but OH WELL.
I'll work on it.
